Volunteers are available to help write letters or read the cards and letters that patients may receive. A Canada Post drop box is located in the front lobby. Patient Rooms The type of room a patient receives depends on what is available but every attempt is made to ensure the patient gets the type of room for which they have coverage. There is an extra daily charge for private and semi-private rooms. If a patient requests a private or semi-private room and one is not available, they will be transferred to one as soon as one becomes available. Sometimes it is necessary to move patients out of their private room. This may be necessary for another patient whose condition is serious or requires infection control, extra space for equipment, constant monitoring, a quiet environment for them and privacy for their family. REMINDER: Visitors are not to lie on patient beds. Washrooms in patient rooms are for patient use only.
